How to Plant a Pond

Keep tall plants to the rear.

Approximately 20% of bottom should be planted with oxygenators.

Plant in groupings to create a natural pond look.

For filtration have 30%-50% of perimeter planted with marginals.

50-60% surface coverage with plants reduces algae and keeps water cool by shading.

Natural plantings of lilies, lotus, & floating plants create habitat for fish, producing stronger, healthier specimens.

Place floating plants among bog plants or float free in the pond.
